Saharah

Saharah is the artist identity of Dr. Sara Hollis.  She is best known as an educator.  She joined the faculty at Southern University at New Orleans in 1973 where she has served as Chair of Fine Arts, Dean of Graduate Studies, Director of the Master of Arts in Museum Studies Program and now as Professor of Museum Studies, so she has more time to create art.  Saharah has worked in several mediums over the years including drawing, art quilts, painting and collage.  She has been a Co-op Member at the Second Gallery for several years.  The collage shown here is in the current exhibition.  Her last one-person exhibition, Herstory, ran March through June 2020.  Her next one-person exhibition is planned for March 2021 at Second Story Gallery.
